Capcom announced a partnership with Virgin Gaming today, allowing players of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition to wager money on their match. The winner of the match wins the money. The loser, obviously, loses the money. This competition is available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Capcom employee Peter Rosas says this harkens back to the days of the arcade. Two players went head to head. The winner got to keep on playing while the loser had to put in another quarter. In the days of the arcade, people used to compete for pride and money. According to Rosas, they will again through this. To register, click here and you will be taken to Virgin Gaming’s page.
Before you click, there are two important pieces of information missing from this. There’s no indication if there is a minimum bet or how much money the player has to put forward. There’s no mention on how much of a cut Virgin Gaming and Capcom is getting from each bet. It’s best to know what you’re getting into financially before hand, as well as how much you can potentially win, before getting involved.
